Prospea alternative: auto-send the pitch, or send it yourself?

The numbers for both Prospea and LeadReef are drawn from each tool’s own live pages.

Prospea alternative: LeadReef vs Prospea, auto-send vs sending the pitch yourself

No two tools we have lined up overlap as heavily as Prospea and LeadReef. Both pull local businesses off Maps, both grade the site, both mock up a better version, and both draft the outreach. From there Prospea pushes further into automation. So anyone shopping for a Prospea alternative, or running a Prospea vs LeadReef comparison, is really settling one narrow question: should the software send the pitch, or should you?

Since this is our page, here is the bias stated plainly. On automation Prospea is the more complete product — a bigger free tier, automatic follow-ups on its paid plans, and a CRM — and we will point out exactly where. LeadReef counters with a lower price, more places to look, and one hard rule: it never sends for you. Which one comes out ahead depends on how you prefer to work.

The short answer: Prospea finds, scores, previews and, on its paid plans, fires off the follow-ups for you. LeadReef handles the finding, scoring and building for less — $14 against €29 — and leaves the send in your hands. Both are free to try, and of the two Prospea’s free tier is the more generous.

Here is the comparison at a glance, ahead of the full walk-through.

What Prospea does

Prospea is a complete outreach suite built for people who sell websites, with the European market in its sights. It draws matching local businesses from Maps, rates each site on a weighted Lighthouse read from 0 to 100, and generates a bespoke redesign preview from the prospect’s own branding. It also digs up the decision-maker, a verified email, phone and socials, composes a personalized message, and on paid plans sends the follow-up on its own, floating warm leads to the top of a built-in CRM. All of it is laid out on their site.

Prospea offers a free Discover plan of 20 leads a month with no card. Starter runs €29 a month for 200 leads and Pro €79 for 800, dropping to €23 and €63 a month if you pay annually. Automatic follow-ups kick in at Starter and are absent from the free plan. Everything sits on EU servers and is built around GDPR. The figures live on their pricing.

Where Prospea matches us, and where it passes us

Prospea has a long list of things we simply cannot match. Its free tier is genuine and larger than ours — twenty leads every month with no card, against our one-time 10. It keeps pace on the hard parts too, scoring the site, building a preview, drafting a message, so this is no lightweight rival. Then it moves beyond us. Once you pay, it sends the follow-up for you and tucks every prospect into a CRM, so the chasing carries on by itself. It sits on EU servers and is GDPR-native, which counts if your prospects are European. Turned loose, Prospea is the more complete machine.

The one thing LeadReef does differently

LeadReef pushes back on three fronts. First is reach. Prospea looks at a single surface, Maps. LeadReef’s Fisher AI looks at three: Maps on every plan, and on Pro and Scale, Recent Ads for businesses already paying to get found, plus Open Web for failing sites that sit in no directory. Second is price. LeadReef opens at $14 a month against €29, so the paid entry point is lower.

Third is the send, which we deliberately left out. LeadReef never sends anything. It builds the prototype and drafts the cold email and SMS, then passes them to you. You pick the moment the message goes out, and the address it comes from. The domain stays yours, and so does the relationship. Prospea’s automation really is less work, and if that is what you are after, it takes the point. Two caveats, put bluntly. LeadReef has neither a CRM nor auto-sending, and pushing the prototype to a live URL is a Pro feature.

LeadReef's own pricing page: Starter $14 a month with 60 AI credits, lead finding on Maps, full client prototypes you can generate, preview and inspect, and cold email plus SMS drafts; Pro $49 a month with 250 credits, the Maps, Recent Ads and Open Web lead sources, unlimited prototypes, live publishing, custom domains and no LeadReef branding; Scale $99 a month with 600 credits, all lead sources, priority AI generation, brand-voice messaging, site code export and priority support. Pro is marked as the plan most operators pick.
LeadReef’s own pricing page. A single credit pool pays for finding, building and drafting across every paid plan.

The same lead, both ways

Suppose a bistro shows up with a dated site. Prospea scores it 42 out of 100, builds a redesign preview and writes an opening email. On a paid plan it then fires off the next nudge by itself and records the reply in the CRM. That is a good deal of pipeline moving without you, and for a seller who wants the machine to keep rolling, it is genuinely appealing.

LeadReef turns up the same bistro, whether via Maps or through Recent Ads and Open Web, scores it, mocks up the prototype, and drafts an email and text that fit. Then it halts and hands you the send. You read the draft, tweak a line, and send it yourself, from your own address, when the timing feels right. One tool advances the pipeline on its own; the other keeps you in charge of the final step.

If you would sooner see the scored list than take our word for it, run a LeadReef search on a trade you already sell to.

What the plans cost

The two price on different terms. Prospea’s free Discover plan hands out 20 leads every month. LeadReef’s free search hands out 10, one time. On the free side Prospea wins on both counts: more leads, and they renew. Paid, the ranking reverses. LeadReef’s Starter is $14 against €29 for Prospea’s Starter and its 200 leads, and Prospea’s automatic follow-ups only turn on after you pay. Weigh the recurring free leads against the lower monthly bill, because that trade-off is the whole story.

Choosing between two close tools

Pick LeadReef if you want reach, a low price, and ownership of every send. It scores the lead, builds a prototype, and readies the email and text, for $14 a month, across three named sources on Pro, with the send forever in your hands. It suits the seller who wants control and a wider net.

Pick Prospea if you want a recurring free tier and a suite that, once you pay, sends and tracks on your behalf, hosted in the EU. On automation it goes further than we do, and for a largely hands-off seller that is the right pick.

LeadReef also runs a partner program with a recurring commission, which is worth knowing if you end up recommending your stack to other freelancers. There is a partner page if that is you.

The deciding difference

These two share most of the work: find, score, build a preview, draft the message. Prospea layers on a bigger free tier, sends the follow-ups for you on paid plans, and runs a CRM that is GDPR-ready for Europe. LeadReef layers on two extra lead sources on Pro, a lower price, and one firm line: it never sends — you do. Automation will send for you; LeadReef writes the pitch and keeps your name on the send. If a recurring free tier and automatic chasing weigh more heavily for you, Prospea is the fuller machine, and for anyone who wants that, it is the right buy.

How we checked

We pulled the Prospea facts here from their live pages, chiefly their home page, which lists the plans, the free tier and the features. We verified the plan names, prices and lead allowances, the free 20 leads, which plans bundle automatic follow-ups, the Maps source, the Lighthouse scoring, the redesign preview, the drafted message, the CRM, and the EU and GDPR hosting. We never bought a Prospea subscription. Pricing shifts, so if a figure here has gone stale, Prospea’s live page is the authority. The LeadReef prices here are the public ones. Our comparison of tools to find local businesses to pitch puts Prospea next to the rest of the field.

The questions that come up

Is LeadReef a good Prospea alternative?

Yes, if what you want is a lower price, more places to source leads, and to press send yourself. Both tools locate businesses, grade the site, build a preview and draft a message. Where Prospea pulls ahead is a larger free tier, automatic follow-ups on paid plans, and a CRM. LeadReef pulls from three sources (Recent Ads and Open Web on Pro), opens at $14 rather than €29, and never sends on your behalf.

Prospea vs LeadReef: what is the real difference?

It comes down to automation. Both find, score, preview and draft, but once you pay Prospea also fires off the follow-up and logs it in a CRM, backed by a bigger free tier and EU hosting. LeadReef stays a research-and-drafting tool: it never sends, it pulls from three lead sources rather than one (Recent Ads and Open Web on Pro), and it is cheaper to get started.

Does Prospea build a preview and write outreach?

It does both, in much the same way LeadReef does. Prospea produces a redesign preview of the prospect’s site and drafts a personalized message, and on paid plans it also sends the follow-up for you automatically. LeadReef writes the cold email and SMS but hands the send back to you.

Does Prospea have a free tier?

Yes — the Discover plan hands you 20 leads each month with no card, which comes out ahead of LeadReef’s one-off 10. Automatic follow-ups, though, require a paid Prospea plan. LeadReef’s free search spans 10 business types across 10 cities, and its paid Starter runs $14/mo versus €29, so once you start paying the ranking reverses.

Which should I pick, Prospea or LeadReef?

If a bigger free tier, automatic follow-ups and a CRM hosted in the EU appeal to you, go with Prospea. If you would rather have three lead sources (Recent Ads and Open Web on Pro), a cheaper way in, and control over every send, go with LeadReef. Neither choice is a mistake — they simply suit different working styles.

Can I try LeadReef free?

Yes. The first 10 leads cost nothing and need no card, pulled from 10 business types across 10 cities. Building the prototype and drafting the cold email and SMS call for a paid plan, starting at $14 a month. Prospea’s free Discover plan is larger and recurring at 20 leads a month, so it gives you the longer free stretch.

The quickest way to judge any of this is on your own market. Run a free LeadReef search: pick one of 10 business types and one of 10 cities, and your first 10 leads cost nothing, no card needed. Paid plans open every business type in any city you choose.
