# Use LeadReef in Claude

> LeadReef is a custom connector for Claude. Once it is added, you ask Claude in plain words to find local businesses with no website or a weak one, read their contacts and draft the pitch. It works on every Claude plan, including Free, with any LeadReef plan. Setup takes about 2 minutes.

## What you need

- **Any Claude plan.** Free allows one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds the connector for the organization first.
- **Any LeadReef plan.** The free plan includes 1 search a day. Searches use the same credits as in the app.

## Connect in 6 steps

1. **Open Customize → Connectors.** In Claude, open Customize in the left sidebar and go to Connectors.
2. **Click “Add custom connector”.** Name it LeadReef.
3. **Paste the server URL.** Paste https://api.leadreef.ai/mcp and click Add.
4. **Click Connect and sign in.** A LeadReef window opens. Sign in with your LeadReef account.
5. **Click Allow.** The window lists what Claude will be able to do: read your leads and run searches. You return to Claude.
6. **Turn LeadReef on in a chat.** Open the tools menu under the message box, switch LeadReef on and ask for leads.

## First prompts to try

LeadReef finds the businesses and their contacts. Claude does the rest in the same chat: tables, ranking, and drafts of the first email.

- "Find hair salons in Denver with no website, make a table and write an email to the best one."
- "Show my leads from the last search that have an email, sorted by rating."
- "For the top 3 restaurants in my Lisbon search, list what is wrong with their websites and write a 3-line pitch for each."
- "How many searches can I still run this month?"

## If it does not work

- **The connector doesn't appear in chat.** Start a new chat and check the tools menu under the message box. LeadReef has to be switched on per chat.
- **Allow keeps looping back to sign-in.** Allow third-party cookies for claude.ai and leadreef.ai, or try in a private window. Make sure you sign in to the same LeadReef account each time.
- **“Add custom connector” is greyed out.** On Team and Enterprise, only an owner can add connectors. Ask them to add LeadReef for the organization. On Free, you may already have one custom connector.
- **Claude says it needs to reconnect.** The session expired or the app was disconnected in LeadReef. Open Customize → Connectors, click LeadReef and Connect again.
- **Searches stop with a limit message.** You used the free plan's daily search, ran out of credits, or reached 10 searches a minute. Reading leads still works. The limits are listed in the technical reference.

## Questions about Claude

### Does Anthropic see my leads?

Claude sees the data LeadReef returns in the chats where you use it, the same as anything else you share in a chat, and Anthropic's policies apply to that chat. LeadReef does not send your account data to Anthropic outside those calls.

### Can Claude send emails to leads?

No. LeadReef's connector cannot send messages. Claude can draft an email from the lead's details, and you send it yourself.

### How many connectors can I add on Claude Free?

Claude Free allows one custom connector. Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise allow more.

### Does it cost extra?

No. Reading leads is free. Searches use your LeadReef credits, and the LeadReef free plan includes 1 search a day.
